I HAVE A 3GS IPHONE WITH VERSION 4.1 AND 05.14.02 MODEM FIRMWARE CAN YOU JAILBREAK IT AND UNLOCK IT EITHER ON MAC OR WINDOWS? DOES ANYONE KNOWS LET ME KNOW THANKS.

if you have a back up of your shsh files of the phone yes. If its never been jailbroken before or have no backups of your shsh files then no. As you know there is no jailbreak for 4.1 at the moment just got to the link and wait for it. It will be out soon.

I recently bought an iPhone 2G from eBay. The seller stated that the iphone has already been jail broken with firmware 3.0.1.
But when I insert my t-mobile sim, the iphone locks up and has the itunes with usb cable screen. This is my first time with an iPhone. Thanks for any help!
I added the ultrasn0w thing through cydia and rebooted my iphone. But i still cannot use my sim card. The lock screen still shows up. What's wrong?

It may be jailbroken, but not unlocked. If you want you can unlock it your self. Go here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlmApT6v8O8
You don't have to watch the whole video, just skip to about 7:30 where he talks about unlocking. Basically all you're doing is going into the cydia app and add the repo666.ultrasn0w.com source. Then you have to install it and reboot your iphone.
EDIT: Did you turn off 3G before rebooting?
