This is by far the simplest method to establish a Bluetooth serial connection between a microcontroller based embedded system and you PC (or even your cell phone) The PC program I am using to control bluetooth devices (from the computer) is IVT BlueSoleil The Bluetooth serial converter is made by SURE electronics and you can find it on eBay

Question by emperor: is it a good idea to buy a net book computer that has 10.2 inch screen, which I want to used for CAD programs?
Other details are below. why I want to buy this laptop is because it has window xp on it which is better when using CAD Applications and it is portable, but the only problem is the screen size,is it too small for CAD applications such as ArchiCAD,AutoCAD,Artlantis
the cost of the laptop is about $ 499

Netbooks are not a good solution for Auto-CAD or any other graphically intensive application like this. The Atom Processor is going to be your bottleneck more-so than the screen.
I would seriously consider something with a little more horse-power if you are going to do anything graphics related - and definitely shy away from the netbooks for this.

@dafsoft No in AT command mode you don’t use bluetooth. You connect to rx and tx lines of the module (use a max232 chip for level convertion).
It is better to use an external crystal for the micro
PS You don’t bother me at all. The problem is that I don’t login frequently!

Hi, sorry to bother you so much, after one month of trying i cant make mine work
I have a 16f88 (internal clk), the module conected to the pic with 1k resistor btween rx and tx, and tx and rx, I can only read garbage the pic sends and the pic is not reading anything, I am suppousing the pic can´t do the module´s default baudrate using the internal osc, so I tryed to setup the module starting it under AT command mode, but under that mode it wont connect to my pc bluetooth dongle…

@dafsoft I didn’t have a 3.3V regulator and I used LM317 (the resistances are there to set the voltage at 3.3 Volts
The other two resistances are to convert the 5V TTL logic coming out from the microcontroller, to 3.3Volt level logic. The data coming from the Bluetooth to the microcontroller don’t need level conversion

I just ordered the module, but I see some resistances near the module, why?
My plan was: 9v battery(it moves dc motors) 5vregulator for pic and 3.3v regulator for the module, and the circuitry for the dc mottors, would this work? thanks

nice… i cant make to receive data with a PIC… even if i connect rx and tx in the gp-gc021… hyperterminal does not receive nothing….

@dafsoft There is no schematics for this project. You just connect the RXD and TXD of the Bluetooth serial converter wherever you want (e.g. to a microcontroller). You must be careful only with voltage level, which must be 3.3Volts.

Its great, can you share the schematics?

fake

You can get by with this size screen but it limits your view size and you will be continually using zoom to see details that U could easily see with a larger screen. I would suggest a screen no smaller than 15″
