iOS 4.3.1 update, sn0wbreeze 2.3 b4 + ultrasn0w unlock « kid_ant

The jailbreaking community has been cautious in releasing new jailbreak tool for the latest iOS 4.3. It’s probably because they smell Apple is cooking yet another iOS update (iOS 4.3.1), scheduled to be released two weeks from now. Releasing a new tool while expecting a new iOS update wouldn’t be practical.

But in spite all that, iH8sn0w still released a few beta versions of sn0wbreeze 2.3 for jailbreaking all iOS 4.3-compatible devices, with beta 4 being the latest. he said, it now supports ultrasn0w to unlock iPhones. but be warned though, ultrasn0w has never been updated since the release of iOS 4.2.1 where iPhones with 05.14.02 and 05.15.04 baseband (BB) need to be patched with 06.15.00. that also applies to the BB that comes with iOS 4.3 (05.16.00).

Patching your BB is not only complicated, it will also void the warranty of your precious iPhone. so far, these are the BBs supported by ultrasn0w 1.2:

• 04.26.08
• 05.11.07
• 05.12.01
• 05.13.04
• 06.15.00
• 01.59.00 – iPhone 4

These BBs came from iOS versions 4.0.2 and earlier. that means you must know how to patch your current BB and understand its consequences, or preserve it; before you go and do an update past iOS 4.0.2.

For iPhone 3G & 3GS users who currently have iOS 4.0.2, keep it to that version if you want to keep your unlock.
